The Ward County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating two suspects sought on felony warrants who have been charged with construction fraud.

Nathan Michael Smith, 45, Sawyer, and Layne Thomas Bennett, 38, Minot, were both charged on July 23 in North Central District Court with one count each of Class A felony construction fraud-abandon-over $50,000. Both cases are listed as inactive, according to court records, and a motion to quash the warrant by Smith’s attorney Alexander Reichert was denied on Aug. 7.
