Defendendant given 14 days for cocaine conspiracy

A Minot man was sentenced to serve 14 days in the Ward County Jail after entering a change of plea to guilty to a single count of conspiracy to deliver cocaine on Tuesday.

Ashante Tyrese Hechazarria, 25, Minot, entered his change of plea to the Class B felony in North Central District Court.

According to court documents, the charge against Hechazarria stemmed from an undercover Ward County Narcotics Task Force purchase of cocaine and THC cartridges from Syre Rose, 21, Minot, on Feb. 16. Rose was arrested a short time after the transaction at Oak Park. Rose told investigators Hechazarria had picked up the cocaine from an unidentified source and cut it with an agent before delivering it to him.

A search warrant of Hechazarria’s residence was executed, which located cocaine cutting agents, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, $2,186 in cash and $1,100 of Task Force funds.

District Judge Douglas Mattson sentenced Hechazarria to first serve 14 days of a 360-day sentence with credit for eight days served. The felony count was deemed a misdemeanor, pending Hechazarria’s compliance during a three-year period of supervised probation. Hechazarria was also ordered to complete a chemical dependency evaluation and forfeit the seized cash and firearm. He was also assessed $900 in court fines and fees.

Starting at $2.99/week.
