NEW TOWN – A 30-year-old New Town man died in a two-vehicle crash on N.D. Highway 23, west of New Town, on Tuesday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2015 Volvo truck pulling a trailer, driven by a 61-year-old Williston man, was going east on Highway 23 and a 1997 GMC Sierra pickup, driven by the New Town man, was going west. The pickup traveled over the center line and hit the Volvo truck head-on.

Both vehicles landed in the eastbound ditch of the highway. The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. Their names will be released Wednesday.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
