Towner woman injured in Benson County Crash
LEEDS — A Towner woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after her vehicle was struck by a truck driven by a juvenile about seven miles east of Leeds on Wednesday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Carlotta Schall, 69, Towner, was traveling west in a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer on U.S. Highway 2, and turned north onto 63rd Street Northeast. The other vehicle, a 2016 Ford F-150, was being driven by a 16-year-old male from Churchs Ferry. A 13-year-old passenger in the Ford was leaning forward at the time of the accident which obstructed the driver’s view of westbound traffic. The driver of the Ford completed his turn and struck the Trailblazer.
Schall was taken by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lake for treatment for injuries sustained in the crash. Neither juvenile was injured. The Highway Patrol reported all parties were wearing seat belts and airbags were deployed. Charges against the juvenile driver of the Ford are pending.
