Deferred sentence revoked for heroin delivery conspiracy

The deferred imposition of sentence in a 2017 case against a Berthold woman who pleaded guilty to one Class B felony count for conspiracy to deliver heroin has been revoked.

Copper Lynn Galloway, 27, Berthold, had pleaded guilty to the charge in April 2019, and was granted a deferred sentence of two years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with credit for 64 days already served along with three years of supervised probation. Galloway was also assessed $475 in court fines and fees and was required to pay $900 in restitution with co-defendant Rihannon Whitebull, 36, Elgin.

According to court documents, Galloway and Whitebull conspired with Brandon Lamont Chandler, 31, Minot, to deliver the heroin to a confidential informant working for the Ward County Narcotics Task Force.

An order to revoke the deferred sentence was filed on Monday in North Central District Court, due to Galloway failing to comply with the conditions of her probation.

Galloway is currently facing two Class C felony counts for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, providing false information to law enforcement and an infraction for marijuana paraphernalia. A two-day jury trial on these charges is currently scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 7.
