Council member announces candidacy

Steve Podrygula, Minot City Council vice president, announced he has filed the necessary petitions seeking re-election to the council at the June 11 city election.

He said his priorities are making sure tax dollars are wisely spent, increasing openness and accountability in government, enhancing public safety, improving infrastructure, particularly flood protection, streets and traffic flow and enhancing the quality and efficiency of city services.

“I believe my 45 years of experience as a clinical and health psychologist can be of particular value in challenging times like these. I’ve learned how to listen to people, and earn their confidence and trust,” he said.

Podrygula has been a Minot resident for more than 40 years and served on the council for 16 years, emphasizing that “independence, experience, and common sense do make a difference.”
