BISMARCK – An Anamoose man died from injuries sustained in a head-on crash in Bismarck Thursday, according to the Bismarck Police Department.

Marvin Helland, 84, was eastbound on East Main Avenue and was crossing the intersection at North Bismarck Expressway when his passenger car struck a single unit box truck driven by Mark Praus, 63, of Mandan, who was westbound on East Main Avenue, making a left turn to head south on Bismarck Expressway.

Marvin was extricated from his vehicle by Bismarck Fire and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. Praus was uninjured.

Bismarck Police reported no charges have been filed as the investigation is continuing.
