KEENE – The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of a produced water release occurring Jan. 30 at a well location about 6.8 miles from Keene in McKenzie County.

Goodnight Midstream reported Jan. 31 that 40,404 gallons of brine were released due to facility valve freezing and water flowing out of the south truck offload. The product was contained on-site and cleanup is underway. At the time of reporting, all of the brine had been recovered.

A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
