A popular multi-use path between Minot and Burlington will see maintenance next summer.

The Ward County Commission accepted a $697,016 bid from Bechtold Paving on Tuesday to overlay the shared-used path that runs next to Ward County Road 15. The county’s share of the cost is estimated at $132,921, with the remainder coming from federal dollars.

The path is about five miles long and was originally constructed in 2002 and 2004.

County Highway Engineer Dana Larsen said the project is expected to take place in segments, with notice given to the public as stages of closure occur.
