Minot man sentenced to 10 years for continuous sexual abuse

Wayne Alan Visocsky
A Minot man who previously pleaded guilty in February to a Class AA felony charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child was sentenced in district court on Thursday.
Wayne Alan Visocsky, 67, Minot, was initially charged with the Class AA felony in October 2022, and entered a not guilty plea. According to court documents, a juvenile Jane Doe who was under his care reported to her parents that Visocsky would play “the tickle game” with her. Doe told her parents and investigators that the game escalated from regular tickling, and that Visocsky would expose himself to her and invite her to touch him.
Investigators from the Minot Police Department would later interview Visocsky, where he admitted that he did play the game with Doe, describing the game as Doe reaching down his pants and touching his penis. Visocsky had difficulty remembering the number of incidents or the exact timeline of the abuse but told investigators that he would admit to anything Jane Doe disclosed. The victim’s mother determined that there could have been approximately 25 overnight visits just in 2018 and 2019 where the abuse could have occurred.
Visocsky entered a change of plea in late February, forestalling a scheduled jury trial set for March. District Court Judge Kirsten Sjue ordered a presentence investigation, and later approved an extension for the PSI in April.
At the sentencing hearing on Thursday, three victim impact statements were shared, and Judge Sjue handed down her sentence of 30 years in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation with all but ten years suspended. Visocsky was given credit for 204 days already served and will be required to complete 5 years of supervised probation upon release. Visocsky will also be required to register as a sex offender and have no contact with Jane Doe. Visocsky was also assessed $1,025 in court fines and fees.
