Four involved in vehicle rollover near St. John
ST. JOHN – Four people were involved in a one-vehicle rollover near St. John on Sunday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 3:41 a.m. a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup, driven by Damian Brunelle, 18, Belcourt, was southbound on BIA Road 7, three miles south of St. John.
The Silverado was passing another motorist and negotiating a right curve. It went off the road to the east, overcorrected, crossed both lanes and entered the west ditch. The vehicle rotated clockwise on the road, entered the ditch and rolled.
Brunelle fled the scene and his injury is not known at this time, according to the Highway Patrol.
Passengers Landon Jeanotte, 18, Belcourt, and Terry’ce Davis, 18, Devils Lake, were ejected and found unconscious on the ground near the pickup. The third passenger, Tuff Longie, 18, Belcourt, was found outside the pickup sitting and conscious. Jeanotte was transported to Indian Health Service (IHS) in Belcourt, Davis was taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot and Longie was later transported by a friend to IHS in Belcourt.
None of the occupants of the pickup were wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
