Peace Garden to host summer events

DUNSEITH — Several events have been scheduled at the International Peace Garden this summer, including the Old Time Fiddle Workshop and Contest that begin today and conclude Saturday.

International Music Camp is presenting the 27th annual fiddle, guitar, bass and five-string banjo workshops today and Friday, followed by the contest on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Betty Sawatzky will be teaching alcohol ink tile workshops. People can attend one or all four workshops. Each workshop costs $35 and registration is required.

On Sunday, June 18, the annual Father’s Day Brunch will be held in the atrium of the Conservatory. The cost is $25 per person and $11 for children ages 12 and younger. Reservations are recommended but not required.

Gala in the Garden is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, and a tribute concert to Elton John will be held Saturday, Sept. 23. Jeff Scott of Richmond Hill, Ontario, has been performing the music of John for more than 20 years. His “Epic Elton” show features colorful costumes, skilled piano playing and distinctive Elton John vocals.
