Names released for fatal Divide County motorcycle crash

FORTUNA — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Canadian woman who died in an accident six miles east of Fortuna on Sunday.

Leigh-Ann Tessier, 43, Estevan, Saskatchewan, was a passenger on a 2016 Indian motorcycle being driven by Darrel Tessier, 42, also of Estevan. The other vehicle involved was a 2022 Ford F-150 being driven by Brett Engen, 25, Williston.

The accident reportedly occurred when the F-150 failed to yield to the motorcycle, which threw its occupants from the vehicle. Both the motorcycle driver and passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s medical facility in Crosby before being transferred to Trinity Health in Minot. Leigh-Ann Tessier succumbed to her injuries sustained in the crash.
