Minot man to receive high-level Air Force award

Mark Jantzer, Minot City Council member and Minot Air Force Base civic leader, will be awarded the Secretary of the Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award at the Minot Area Chamber EDC’s Military Affairs Committee meeting in Minot on Thursday.

The award will be presented to Jantzer by Col. Daniel Hoadley, commander of Minot AFB’s 5th Bomb Wing.

The Secretary of the Air Force Distinguished Public Service Award is the highest award to be presented to a non-government employee civilian. To be considered, a person must make a profound contribution at the national level that represents substantial progress in fulfilling the Air Force mission.

Jantzer is chairman of Task Force 21 and an honorary commander for the 91st Operations Group. His advocacy and support for Minot AFB and the Air Force championed modernization efforts on and off-base.
