Dickinson man dies in two-vehicle crash

WILLISTON – A 40-year-old Dickinson man died in a two-vehicle crash on N.D. Highway 1804, 25 miles east of Williston, on Friday. Two other people involved in the crash were injured.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2008 Ford F-350, driven by a 49-year-old Williston man, was traveling west on Highway 1804. A 2010 Toyota Highlander, driven by the Dickinson man, was going east. The Ford pickup failed to negotiate a slight curve in the road and crossed into the eastbound lanes. The Ford struck the Toyota head on, causing both vehicles to spin and come to rest in the south ditch.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota, a 57-year-old man from Hedgesville, West Virginia, was taken by ambulance to Tioga Medical Center and then to Trinity Health in Minot. The driver of the Ford was taken to the Tioga facility by ambulance.

The driver of the Ford was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Toyota was wearing a seat belt and the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation by the N.D. Highway Patrol.
