U.S. Sens. John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer, both R-ND, issued statements following the announcement that former President Trump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury.

“Given that the DOJ and FEC declined to bring charges in this matter, the Manhattan DA’s case appears to be politically motivated,” said Hoeven.

“An indictment is a far cry from a conviction. Considering several prosecutors at both the federal and state level have passed on this case, it seems to be a bit of a stretch, to say the least. Let justice take its course and see how this turns out,” said Cramer.
