Williston Fire Dept. responds to structure fire

WILLISTON — The Williston Fire Department was dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports of a structure fire, with flames and smoke visible from the window of a residence.

A second alarm response was activated after it was reported that victims were still inside the building, leading to three fire engines, a ladder truck and on-call staff to arrive on scene.

The crews conducted a search of the residence, and began fire suppression procedures, determining that all occupants had successfully exited the building. The three occupants were evaluated by EMS on the scene and were released after being treated for minor injuries.

According to a City of Williston news release, the fire was under control by 10:10 p.m., and the WFD Fire Prevention Division was dispatched to investigate the cause and origin of the fire. Williams County/Williston Emergency Management also responded to the scene, and assisted the effected family with finding temporary alternative living arrangements through the Salvation Army and Catholic Charities.
