Taskey charged with indecent exposure

Joseph Aaron Taskey, 44, currently being held in the Ward County Jail, has been charged in North Central District Court with three counts of indecent exposure. According to a release from the Minot Police, the department received reports of a male allegedly exposing himself at a local medical facility in a bathroom open to the public. Police reviewed photographs of the suspect taken by facility staff, identifying him as Taskey, a high-risk sex offender who had recently registered as living in Minot.

Taskey has multiple convictions in Idaho and North Dakota for indecent exposure and failure to register as a sex offender. Taskey had moved into the Minot address he provided to the police department two days before registering. Officers observed the address did not allow sex offenders and violated a requirement that he stay at least 500 feet from a public school.

Police arrested Taskey for violation of his offender registration requirements while continuing to investigate the indecent exposure complaint. The three counts of indecent exposure are a Class C felony. Taskey made his initial appearance in district court on Friday.
