Ashley Nicole Capers, 32, pled guilty to Class C felony simple assault on a police officer on Dec. 2 before Judge Richard Hagar in district court in Ward County. Capers had been charged with punching and trying to bite a Minot police officer during a disturbance in the Trinity Hospital emergency room on March 10, 2021.

On Dec. 2, Hagar sentenced Capers to 360 days, first served 21 days, with credit for 19 days served with two days off for good behavior, and three years of supervised probation. Capers is required to complete an anger management program and undergo a chemical dependency evaluation. Capers also is required to pay $400 for criminal administration, $100 defense/facility administration and $25 in victim-witness fees.
