Man sentenced for burglary

Carlvensky Constant, 19, Minot, was sentenced on Thursday to five years in prison, all suspended but the 39 days he already served in the Ward County Jail, and two years of supervised probation for two counts of Class C felony burglary in September. The sentences are concurrent and Constant also received credit for five additional days off his sentence due to good behavior in jail.

Judge Doug Mattson also ordered Constant to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation, to have no contact with the victims, and to pay $650 in court costs.

According to court records, a man called police on Sept. 16 to say he had found a stranger on his property. Police arrived and found Constant in the property owner’s vehicle. Police located items allegedly stolen from the home and from a neighbor’s home.
