September moisture below long-term average

The total moisture for the month of September was 0.51 inches which is 1.05 inches below the long-term average of 1.56 inches, according to Austin Kraklau of the North Central Research Center, south of Minot.

Kraklau also reported the average temperature in September was 60.8 degrees. This was 4.5 degrees warmer than the 115-year, long-term average of 56.3 degrees.

The lowest temperature in September was 33 degrees on Sept. 22, Kraklau said. The highest temperature was 96 degrees on Sept. 2.

On this last day of the 2022 Norsk Hostfest being held in Minot, the National Weather Service is forecasting mostly cloudy weather with the temperature in the lower 60s today. There’s a 30% chance of showers today. For the rest of the week through Tuesday, daytime temperatures are expected to be in the high 60s, according to the NWS.
