Minot Motor Vehicle manager to retire, new manager named

For those who have frequented the Minot Motor Vehicle office, a familiar face will be retiring after 30 years with the department. Carla Vannett joined Motor Vehicle in August 1992 and is retiring Friday as manager.

Lacey Coleman has been promoted to Motor Vehicle manager. Originally from Montana, Coleman moved to Minot in 2000 and has been with Motor Vehicle since February 2013. She previously was in the customer service industry for 18 years.

“I look forward to continuing to serve the Minot community and the Minot area dealerships,” Coleman said. “I truly enjoy the work that I do here at Motor Vehicle and am excited for this new opportunity.”

Minot Motor Vehicle Title Issuing Branch is one of 19 branches supporting the North Dakota Department of Transportation. Minot Area Chamber EDC is contracted by the state to manage the Minot Motor Vehicle office located at Arrowhead Shopping Center. By processing title work at the local branch patrons are supporting the local Chamber EDC. The kiosk at the Arrowhead location also supports the local community.

Brekka Kramer, Minot Area Chamber EDC president and CEO said, “We are grateful to Carla for giving over 30 years of service to Motor Vehicle and for her work in supporting our local dealers. She’s processed thousands of tags, registrations, mobility placards and titles and has seen many changes over the years with the systems used to support the work the team does at Motor Vehicle. More so she’s been a familiar face that’s helped many over the years. We wish her the best in new adventure enjoying her family, friends and a round or two of golf.”

She added, “Lacey is a great leader who stepped up this summer to serve as the interim manager and we are so excited that she now is serving as the manager. She brings experience and a passion for serving all customers that walk through the doors and dealers in the Minot area.”

Minot Motor Vehicle is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and is now open over the noon hour. The Minot Motor Vehicle office is available for walk-ins and by appointment by calling 857-8221. The office also accepts mailed in paperwork for processing.
