Minot man charged in meth case

Parris Lashaunt Hayes Jr., 24, Minot, is charged in district court in Ward County with Class B felony possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine, Class A misdemeanor preventing arrest and Class B misdemeanor refusal to halt on Tuesday.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Hayes was a passenger in a vehicle that officers approached in Western Village Trailer Park on Tuesday evening while they were investigating another call. The occupants of the vehicle appeared nervous and they were told that Hayes had a warrant for his arrest. The officer told Hayes to get out of the vehicle and Hayes allegedly ran when an officer handcuffed him. The officer caught Hayes and searched him and the search turned up the drugs.

Hayes was scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charges on Wednesday before Judge Todd Cresap.
