Dakota Prairie Grasslands to conduct survey

BISMARCK — Dakota Prairie Grasslands employees will engage visitors to complete the National Visitor Use Monitoring survey from October 2022 through September 30, 2023. Employees conducting the survey will wear bright orange vests and be near a sign that says “Traffic Survey Ahead.”

Surveys are voluntary and all responses are confidential. The survey gathers basic visitor information and interviews take about 10 minutes. The information gathered is useful for grassland planning as well as local community tourism planning.

“We appreciate visitors taking a few minutes of their time while visiting the grasslands to participate in this voluntary survey. Your participation provides us key information about the grassland visitor experience and what actions, services, or facilities might enhance that experience,” said Bennie South, Dakota Prairie Grasslands supervisor. “We want to ensure different types of visitors are represented in the study. To do that, it’s important that interviewers talk with visitors from local communities, as well as out-of-area visitors.”
