Two injured in motorcycle crash near Watford City

WATFORD CITY – Two Belle Forche, South Dakota, residents were injured in a motorcycle crash on N.D. Highway 1806, 20 miles north of Watford City, on Sunday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported the motorcycle, driven by a 35-year-old man was going north on Highway 1806 when the motorcycle began experiencing mechanical issues. The driver failed to negotiate the curve, crossed into the other lane and onto the left shoulder of the road. He lost control of the motorcycle and tipped. The motorcycle came to rest on the left shoulder of the road. The passenger, a 13-year-old girl, fell from the motorcycle. The driver’s leg was pinned under the motorcycle. Both were not wearing helmets, the patrol said.

Both were taken to the Watford City hospital. The girl was then transported by air to Trinity Hospital in Minot.
