WHITE SHIELD – The newest housing development in White Shield was dedicated on Monday.

Mark Fox, chairman of the Three Affiliated Tribes, was on hand to offer a welcome.

“A niche missed by the current housing in the tribe is what the Bitter Root Lodge housing development will fill. The facility will cater to single, independent individuals,” Fox said.

Councilman Fred Fox talked about his Housing Director JoDell Fox, confirming she manages 106 properties, with more on the way.

The New Bitter Root Lodge units each will have their own washer and dryer, water heater, furnace, balconies and dishwasher. There is a centrally located workout room. Chairman Fox, an avid runner who participates annually in the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Native American Cancer Fund, also has many health incentives programs for all tribal workers.
