Laura Dokken will be the new business manager for the Minot Public School District beginning July 1.

The school board unanimously approved hiring Dokken during a board meeting on Monday.

Dokken was the school business manager for Wahpeton Public Schools for 17 years and has served as the city finance director in Watford City for two years.

She will replace longtime Minot Public Schools business manager Scott Moum, who is retiring.

“She checked all the boxes as far as I was concerned,” said school board president Jim Rostad, who said Moum will be hard to replace but Dokken is highly qualified and has great recommendations.

Moum said he will be available for consultation as Dokken takes over her new role if the board would like him to be.
