Council members have been touring and meeting with city departments in preparing for budget talks. As part of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project, the $25 million pump station at Fourth Avenue Northwest and Broadway would manage stormwater during flood events. Its large pumps are capable of pumping 190,000 gallons a minute, which would fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool in four minutes. It is the largest stormwater pump station in the state and the second largest pump station of any type after the Snake Creek Pump Station at Lake Sakakawea.
