Sloan Curtis, Stanley, charged with terrorizing

Margaret Sloan Curtis, 18, Stanley, is charged in district court in Stanley with Class C felony terrorizing.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Curtis allegedly held a loaded gun to one man’s head during a house party on Nov. 25 and waved the gun around in the presence of other people. Someone eventually took the firearm away from Curtis. No one was injured.

According to statements made in court, Curtis, who goes by her middle name Sloan, was heavily intoxicated at the time and alcohol was a factor in the incident.

Curtis is originally from Nevada, based on statements made in court, and had been staying with relatives and doing some work as a nanny in the area.

She will be under the supervision of pre-trial services while out on bond.

If she pleads guilty or is convicted, she could face a mandatory minimum sentence of two years in prison because a weapon was allegedly involved.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 6 before Judge Richard Hagar.
