Alisa Greene, 30, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony child neglect.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Greene was not home when a child was dropped off by a school bus on Oct. 1. The mother of another child who had gotten off the bus at the same time called police when she heard the child crying a few minutes after the bus left and went to check on her.

Greene was dropped off by someone at the scene about two hours after the girl had been dropped off by the bus and explained that her phone had run out of minutes and she had not been able to contact anyone to stay with the child. She had been on her way back to Minot from a trip out of town and was delayed due to construction.

The child was released to her father.

Greene is scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charge on Monday before Judge Gary Lee.
