Tribal Chairman Mark Fox appointed to EPA advisory committee

DENVER – Mark Fox, chairman of the Three Affiliated Fox Tribes (Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation) was appointed to the U.S. Environmental Agency’s Local Government Advisory Committee.

“It is a pleasure and an honor to serve on the EPA LGAC Board,” said Fox. “I look forward to the continuance of strengthening environmental protection throughout our local governments through all of the things the EPA supports.”

Administrator Michael Regan announced the appointment of the 34 new committee members this week. He also appointed 16 new members to the LGAC’s Small Communities Advisory Subcommittee, including North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality Director Dave Glatt.

EPA received more than 150 nominations following a solicitation in March 2021. Both groups plan to hold their first meeting this fall.

Chartered in 1993 under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, the Local Government Advisory Committee provides independent policy advice to the EPA administrator on a broad range of issues affecting local governments. The Small Community Advisory Subcommittee was established by EPA in 1996 to advise the administrator on environmental issues of concern to the residents of smaller communities.
