Timothy Hagan, Minot, charged with attempted murder in stabbing incident

Timothy Lee Hagan, 38, Minot, was arrested Thursday afternoon is connection with the stabbing of a 65-year-old man at a northwest Minot hotel early Thursday.

Minot Police Capt. and Investigation Commander Dale Plessas said Friday morning they are still searching for an additional suspect, Kerviona LaJoyce Bailey, 31. Bailey is facing charges of terrorizing, prostitution, felonious restraint, and kidnapping. If anyone knows of her whereabouts, they are asked to call the Minot Police Department at 852-0111.

Hagan has been charged with Class A felony attempted murder, Class A felony kidnapping with intent to terrorize, Class A felony kidnapping for ransom or reward, Class C felony terrorizing, Class C felony terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, and Class C felony aggravated assault. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charges Friday in district court in Minot before Judge Stacy Louser.

According to police and a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the 65-year-old man had arranged to meet Bailey early Thursday morning and pay her to have sex with him in Room 240 at the hotel. At some point there was an altercation and Hagan, who is Bailey’s boyfriend, blocked a doorway, threatened to kill the other man and brandished a knife. The alleged victim put Hagan in a headlock. During the struggle, the alleged victim was stabbed in the neck, head, upper back, and lower back. The two men ended up on the floor during the struggle. Bailey brandished a semi-automatic pistol and then pulled the trigger twice while pointing the gun at the chest of the alleged victim. The alleged victim did not hear anything when Bailey pulled the trigger. Bailey, Hagan and another woman then ran from the hotel room. The alleged victim ran out of the room, went to a neighbor’s room, banged on the door and asked for help. He was taken to Trinity Hospital and underwent surgery for up to five stab wounds.

In another case, Hagan was charged in March with possession of methamphetamine and MDMA and possession of drug paraphernalia, all C felonies. He was also scheduled to make an appearance Friday on a bench warrant in that case.

In another case, Bailey was charged in April with stealing checks and using them to withdraw money from the victim’s bank account last year. Bailey uses the alias “Dolce,” according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court in that case. She was picked up with Hagan on the drug possession charge on March 25 and is charged in that case with possession of methamphetamine, possession of MDMA, possession of a Schedule IV depressant, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
