Peace Garden hires new development manager

DUNSEITH – Alyssa Slike has been hired development manager at the International Peace Garden.

Slike will oversee fundraising programming for annual and capital campaigns, as well as grant writing. She has been in the role since late April.

Slike, who is originally from Virginia, currently lives in Winnipeg. She had previously been the fund development manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities in Manitoba. She had previously also served as development officer of The Dream Factory for three years and as a fund development coordinator at Parkinson Society of Manitoba, where she also served in other roles for two years. Additionally, she owned her own appraisal business for 13 years and has volunteered extensively in the United States and Canada.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alyssa into The Peace Garden family and are excited by her fundraising experience in both the U.S. and Canada to help us build our development program,” said Tim Chapman, chief executive officer for the Peace Garden. “As we enter a new growth phase for the Garden, fundraising and development is a critical role in support of our plans for corporate and individual giving, as well as grant programming. This position has been much needed and we are eager to put our development planning into practice.”
