MSU Alumni Association offers events

The Minot State University Alumni Association will have a busy summer schedule with its annual Friend Raising Golf Tour, State Fair Luau and Alumni and Friends Socials, according to MSU.

“This past year was very difficult as we were unable to host many of our events that normally bring alumni together. I hope to see as many of our alumni and friends as possible this summer at these great events,” said Janna McKechnie, Minot State director of alumni relations and annual giving.

The Alumni Association will host the 16th year of the Friend Raising Golf Tour. MSU plans to host three events, with Velva kicking off the season June 8 at the Star City Golf Course. The tour will move to Bottineau Country Club on June 29 and finish the season at the Kenmare Country Club on Aug. 5. Registration for each even begins at 4:30 p.m. with a 5 p.m. shotgun start.

Each of the Friend Raising Golf Tour events are a nine-hole, four-person scramble. Individuals can form their own teams or be placed on a team at registration. There will be prizes and T-shirts at each event, and MSU will recognize a high school senior from each area who has been awarded an MSU scholarship.

The first Alumni and Friends Social is set for Fargo at the Crooked Pint Ale House June 17 from 6-8 p.m. Appetizers and a cash bar are available at this event.

MSU will return to the State Fair for its annual Luau on July 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Flickertail Gardens. This event is free to MSU alumni and friends, but individuals will need to purchase a gate admission for the fair.

The Alumni Association will take over the patio of First Western Bank in Bismarck for its 2021 Bismarck Alumni and Friends Social Aug. 19 from 6-8 p.m. This event is free and open to Minot State alumni, staff and friends.
