Carolyn Ring, Stanley, sentenced for trespass
Carolyn Dawn Ring, 27, Stanley, was sentenced in district court in Stanley on May 25 to 180 days in jail, all suspended but the one day she already served, and 18 months unsupervised probation for the reduced charge of Class A misdemeanor criminal trespass. She had originally been charged with a Class C felony.
On Nov. 22, 2020, Ring threw a wood log through a basement window to gain entry to a man’s home in Stanley. He came home and found Ring sleeping on his couch. Ring was known to the man but he had not given her permission to be in the home. He called police and showed them evidence that she had been in the house. The man told police he saw Ring walking away from the home. Police then located Ring and placed her under arrest.
Judge Doug Mattson also ordered Ring to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation, to have no contact with the victim, and to pay $161.67 in restitution and $825 in court costs.
