John Walker, Minot, sentenced for assaulting man
John Jacob Elijah Walker, 24, Minot, was sentenced on Wednesday in district court in Minot to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the one day he already served, and 360 days of supervised probation for physically assaulting another man and injuring him at a Minot apartment on Oct. 12, 2020.
Judge Stacy Louser also ordered Walker to complete a course for domestic violence offenders and to pay $1,275 in court costs. The Class C felony will be deemed a Class A misdemeanor if Walker successfully completes probation.
The state agreed to dismiss a Class B felony burglary charge under the terms of a plea deal. Walker had originally been charged with breaking into the apartment as well.
The victim is known to Walker and there has been ongoing conflict between them.
