Brice Seibert, Minot, charged with burglary

Brice Robert Seibert, 26, Minot, is accused of burglarizing a residence in northeast Minot and stealing a Play Station 4 console and controller on June 15, 2020.

He is charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony burglary and Class B misdemeanor theft.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, one of the residents told police that he came home and found a man standing in his living room holding his Play Station 4 in his hand. The suspect then ran out of the house, got into a vehicle and drove away. The man’s roommate said Seibert might have taken the PS4 controller because he had been complaining that his own was broken.

The resident of the home picked Seibert out of a photo lineup. Police investigated and determined that Seibert had sold the PS4 and controller to a game store on June 19. A customer then purchased the console. The customer took a photo of the console and its serial number and sent it to police and they matched the console that had been stolen. The stolen items were recovered and returned.

Seibert made an initial appearance on the charges on Monday in district court in Minot. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for June 3 before Judge Gary Lee.
