Alan Chorlton, Minot, pleads guilty to stealing vehicles in 2018

Alan Michael Chorlton, 34, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to Class C felony theft for stealing motor vehicles in March 2018.

According to court documents, Chorlton and Paul Martin Henrikson broke into a trailer and stole items. Chorlton claimed that Henrikson had asked him for help in retrieving the vehicles. A neighbor of the victim spotted Chorlton loading a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier and a 2000 Dodge Durango onto a flatbed truck and Chorlton admitted he sold the Cavalier to a salvage yard.

Henrikson is serving a sentence at the State Penitentiary for the burglary and other offenses and was ordered to pay restitution jointly with Chorlton.

Chorlton is serving a two-year sentence in prison for delivery of methamphetamine in an unrelated case.

No judgment was immediately listed on the North Dakota Courts site for the felony theft charge.
