Riley Colton Trimmer, 25, Minot, was sentenced on Friday to three years in prison, all suspended but the 70 days he served in the Ward County Jail plus 10 days off his sentence for good behavior, for having sex with a 17-year-old girl when he was 23.

Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Trimmer to have no contact with the victim, to pay $1,100 in court costs, and to register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, the girl consented to the relationship, but she was underage at the time.
