Richard Wayne Graham, 41, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with three counts of Class C felony child neglect and two counts of failure to report a missing child under the age of 13, both cases dating back to February.

Anna Day, 42, who had also been charged in connection with the case, was sentenced in March to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the 42 days she already served, and two years of supervised probation. The state dismissed other charges against Day under the terms of the plea deal.

According to court documents, the children in the case were turned over to Social Services in February after the home was found to be in a poor condition. Adults from the children’s school contacted police after the kids got off the school bus and they found the door was locked and curtains on the house were drawn and no one answered. Authorities were unable to immediately get in touch with the adults.

In a separate case, Graham is charged with Class C felony fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, dating back to Sept. 19, and Class A misdemeanor providing false information to law enforcement.
