Drive-by baby shower for Surrey quints was a success

Submitted Photo Joshua and Megan Hulen of Surrey stand in their garage with some of the presents they received for their quintuplets during a “drive-by baby shower” on Oct. 18.

Joshua and Megan Hulen of Surrey, parents of quintuplets, received a number of gifts during their drive-by baby shower that was held Oct. 18 and have also met lots of people. The babies – Allison, Adam, Madison, Emma, and Chloe – were born in Fargo on Sept. 2 and came home to Surrey at the end of September. The Hulens also have two older sons, ages 7 and 2. The quints are all healthy and the parents are now settling in to life with seven children.

The baby shower was organized by Lois Zahn with the assistance of Judy Haman, Natasha Knoke, and Heather Thorson, who spread the word, greeted people in the cold that day and carried donated items into the garage, said Megan Hulen.

“We want to thank everyone that has reached out to welcome our babies and to help our family,” said Megan Hulen in an email. “We are so amazed, humbled and blessed by this incredible response of our community and numerous kind people from around the state that have rallied together to support our family. Everyone’s kindness and generosity has been beyond what we could have ever imagined. The donations, cards, diapers, formula, prayers and more will help lighten the load considerably and we are so grateful. It has also been such a pleasure to meet and speak with so many kind people. We love that our family is a part of such a wonderful community.”
