No trial date scheduled for people indicted for distribution of oxycodone on N.D. reservations

No trial date has been scheduled yet for a number of people who have been indicted in U.S. District Court with conspiracy to distribute oxycodone on the Turtle Mountain Reservation, Spirit Lake Reservation, and Fort Bertold Reservation and with money laundering from 2015 to 2019.

A grand jury indicted Baquan Sledge, Darius Sledge, Dondiago Jones, Derrick Walker II, Terrence Johnson, Deante Edwards, Anthony Wade, Lillian Lee, Twon Boyd, Ira Mae Snell, Grayson Dye, Martina Whitetail, Robert Touche, Calvin Dubois, Edward Dubois, Chantel Longie, Kerry Morin, Kasandra Grant, Constance Aiken and Shanae Dubois with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone.

According to court documents, Baquan Sledge, who also goes by the names Rell, TJ, or Matthew Pierce, is alleged to have distributed five oxycodone pills in Ward County on Jan. 24, 2017.

Walker II, who also goes by Country, and Grant allegedly distributed 30 oxycodone pills in Rolette County on July 26, 2019.

Darius Sledge, who also goes by Ace, Man Man, Frank, Frank Love, Gary or Bill, was alleged to have been in possession with intent to distribute on the Turtle Mountain Reservation about 30 oxycodone pills on Aug. 21, 2019.

Walker and Ira Mae Snell allegedly were in possession of 43 oxycodone pills with intent to distribute them on the Spirit Lake Reservation on Nov. 3, 2019.

As part of the conspiracy, some of the defendants allegedly sought out oxycodone users to buy illegal drugs from others or found “sub-distributors” of oxycodone to provide the drug for other conspirators, according to the complaint.

Some of them were in possession of guns that were used to protect the drug supply and ongoing activity.

Some of the conspirators sent or received the proceeds of the oxycodone sales via money wire transfers, rented vehicles to transport and distribute the oxycodone throughout the area, and rented apartments and hotel rooms that were used to distribute the oxycodone or occupied houses on the Turtle Mountain and Spirit Lake Reservation from which the drugs were dealt.
