Dayne Hiller, Minot, charged with DUI with a minor, possession of drugs at jail

Dayne Matthew Hiller, 27, Minot, is accused of being passed out in the parking lot at Marketplace Foods on Friday morning while he had a 3-year-old in the vehicle.

Hiller is charged in district court in Minot with Class A misdemeanor DUI with a minor present, Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and Class B felony possession of a controlled substance at the jail.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Hiller told police he thought he had ingested heroin earlier that day but it might have been fentanyl. He was cleared medically and taken to the jail. He was searched at the jail and the officers found a controlled substance in his wallet during the search. Hiller told police he didn’t realize he had the controlled substance and thought they had already found it when they searched his car.
