Kristen Howard, Oshaya Watkins charged with conspiracy to drug, plant drugs on woman who allegedly cheated with Howard’s husband

Kristen Danielle Howard, 31, Minot, and Oshaya Inez Watkins, 20, Minot, are accused of conspiring to assault a woman whom Howard claimed was sexually involved with Howard’s husband.

Both women are charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony conspiracy to commit burglary and Class C felony conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

According to the probable cause affidavit in Howard’s case, an unidentified female witness went to the Ward County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 6 and said that her supervisor at Community Options in Minot had called her into the office on Aug. 6 to discuss her work schedule. Also in the office was the woman’s co-worker, Watkins. The unidentified witness recorded the meeting on her phone because she was suspicious of Howard’s behavior.

Howard told the woman that her husband had cheated on her and she was going to settle the score with the woman with whom he had cheated. Howard’s plan was to have Watkins and the unidentified female witness pick up the woman who was her target and get her drunk. Howard then planned to slip an illegal drug into the woman’s drink so that she would fail a drug test at her place of employment and be fired.

Howard told Watkins and the other woman to take the targeted victim’s keys and purse. While she was with Watkins and the unidentified witness, Howard told the women she would gain access to the targeted victim’s apartment and plant illegal drugs. Both Watkins and the unidentified female witness agreed to carry out Howard’s plan but the witness later decided to report it to law enforcement because she was worried about the safety of the targeted victim.
