Disabled American Veterans Chapter #4 of Minot is taking applicatons for its 2020-2021 Bob Fix Memorial Scholarship. Fix was a former commander of the DAV.

The fund was established to provide financial assistance to eligible Ward County and surrounding areas residents of North Dakota to achieve their educational goals.

The applicant must be a full-time student at an accredited secondary institution of higher learning.

Eligible applicants include:

– Veterans with service-connected disabilities determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

– Veterans receiving VA pension benefits due to nonservice-connected disabilities.

– Other veterans of the U.S. armed forces.

Applications are available at The Vet Center, Ward County Veteran Service Office, Minot State University Veterans officer and the front desk at the CBOC.

The completed application form must be returned to one of the above listed locations not later than Aug. 15.

A scholarship committee will review applications and grant scholarship awards.
