Black Butte Adventures hosts “Aggie Adventure Race”

Black Butte Adventures is partnering with volunteers tonight to put on the Aggie Adventure Race to raise money for the Velva Sports Complex.

The race includes categories in biking, trail running and hike, followed by a corn feed. People who do not wish to participate in the race are still welcome to attend the corn feed for a free-will donation.

Bikers will ride five miles, and runners and hikers will trek two-mile courses. All courses are on Black Butte Adventures’ pastures, a third generation family operation owned by Jerry and Norma Effertz of Velva.

After the race is over, a mini foot golf course will be set up. According to a press release, prizes will be given for best costume, fastest time and best spirit.

Registration on the day of the event will begin at 4:30 p.m. It is $50 per individual and $110 per family.

The race will start tonight at 6 p.m. and dinner to follow at 7 p.m.
