Minot, Ward County and Area election results

Ross, Podrygula, Evans advance in unofficial results

Unofficial election results showed Minot voters selected Tom Ross, Stephan Podrygula and Carrie Evans to serve on the Minot City Council Tuesday. A number of additional ballots are expected to be counted when the canvassing board meets Monday.

Minot Park Board

Preliminary results of the Minot Park Board election have Ken Kitzman holding the lead with 3,628 votes.

Also elected and in second is Cliff Hovda with 2,950 votes. Polling third is Justin Hammer with 2,620 votes.

Jeff Risk holds fourth with 2,606, and fifth is Steve Wharton with 2,250 votes.

Jim Rostad, Mike Gessner, Bonny Berryman elected to Minot Public School Board

Mike Gessner and Bonny Berryman, both retired Minot Public Schools teachers, defeated incumbent board members Mark Lyman and Mitch Kraft to win four-year seats on the Minot Public School Board in Tuesday’s election. They join board president Jim Rostad, who was elected to another term.

Regional school board results

Des Lacs-Burlington

Jayme Burkhart and Chad Brown were elected to the Des Lacs-Burlington school board on Tuesday.

Burkhart received 170 votes for the at-large position, a three-year term, defeating Jason Rist, who had 141 votes and Michelle Berg who had 113 votes.

Brown had 299 votes for the City of Des Lacs seat, a three-year term, defeating Desiree Burleson, who had 119 votes.

Vote totals are unofficial until they have been been canvassed.

Lewis and Clark election

Kyle Schepp and Troy Pank were elected to seats on the Lewis and Clark School District seat. Schepp was elected to the old Berthold district seat and Pank was elected to the old North Shore district seat. Vote totals are unofficial. No vote totals were given in the email by the business manager.

Velva

Bryan Dean and Angela Heilman were elected to three-year terms on the Velva school board on Tuesday.

Dean had 334 votes and Heilman had 310 votes. Challenger Mark Balas had 188 votes.

There were 445 absentee ballots returned to the school.
