Several people attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate a new $20-million electric transmission line serving Minot, Minot Air Force Base and rural areas. Central Power Electric Cooperative recently completed 26.8 mile transmission line that starts at a bulk delivery substation southwest of Minot and connects to a substation east of Ruthville. Central Power is the wholesale power supply and transmission cooperative owned by Verendrye Electric and five other cooperatives. Republican Sen. John Hoeven-ND was the main speaker for the event which was held at the Dakota Boy’s and Girl’s Ranch west of Minot.
