Prairie Warrior Auction set for March 21

Auction supports Minot AFB activities

This year’s Prairie Warrior Auction, an event to raise funds for Minot Air Force Base activities, will be held Saturday, March 21, in the Grand Hotel in Minot.

Sponsored by the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, the event begins with a preview of merchandise, refreshments and hors d’oeuvres and silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by the live auction at 6:30 p.m. with auctioneer John Bearman of Minot.

Admission is $25 per person.

Since it began more than 30 years ago, the auction has raised nearly $700,000.

Funds raised are distributed to support the base’s competition teams, squadron activities and annual awards banquets. Auction proceeds also go to Operation Warmheart, a year-round program that provides food, clothing and other essential items to needy service members and their families, and for Thanksgiving baskets during the holiday season.

The deadline is March 1 to submit items for the auction. Cash donations are also accepted.

Points of contact for downtown donations are the Chamber at 852-6000 or Tom Rafferty at 852-0406 or 720-0126. For more information call the Chamber.
