Kevin Ingram charged with fleeing police, reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of motor vehicle following chase

Kevin Lane Ingram, 38, Minot, is accused of leading the North Dakota Highway Patrol on a chase in a stolen car on U.S. Highway 2 on Tuesday.

According to the Patrol, a trooper tried to stop Ingram for driving at 85 mph in a 70 mph zone one west of Leeds at 1:51 p.m. Ingram failed to stop and turned south on 51st Avenue NE to elude law enforcement. The pursuit continued south on 51st Avenue NE and then east on 59th Street NE where the trooper lost sight of Ingram.

Ingram was located a short time later by another trooper who had responded to assist. A third trooper in the area deployed a deflation device to stop the car, but Ingram continued to drive on the deflated tires. The pursuit continued in several directions and roadways at speeds varying from 10 mph to 20 mph until Ingram finally stopped, about 15 minutes following the deflation of the tires.

Ingram is charged in district court in Benson County with fleeing a police officer, a second or subsequent offense, a C felony; unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a C felony; reckless endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor; and driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, a Class B felony.

The car had been reported stolen from Minot on Tuesday morning.
